Types of Shock

Shock = inadequate organ and tissue perfusion with oxygenated blood.

This doodle captures the four main categories of shock:

1. Hypovolemic Shock:
– Hemorrhage
– Severe burns
– Dehydration

2. Cardiogenic Shock
– MI
– CHF

3. Obstructive Shock
– Cardiac tampnade
– Tension pneumothorax
– Pulmonary embolism
– Constrictive pericarditis

4. Distributive shock
– Septic
– Anaphylatic
– Neurogenic
