Embryology of Foregut and review of GI Gross Anatomy.

During the embryology lecture, we went over the development of the foregut derivatives, which include: upper respiratory system, lower respiratory system, esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and the proximal part of the duodenum. This daily doodle features the fusiform enlargement of the caudal part of the foregut, the clockwise rotation (90 degrees) and the dorsal border growing faster, swinging out to form the greater curvature. And of course, candy and gastric juices dripping out of the cross-sectioned stomach…
